I mean, I get that’s the (other) joke about lesbians (sapphics in general here), but it felt overdone. However-and there are really two howevers here-the whole schtick of two sapphics being unsure of whether the other liked them and thus not actually acting on anything was. There was never a point where I didn’t understand their relationship, and I enjoyed the progression of it. I liked both Lilah and Noa, I liked reading their POVs, I liked them together. It was a book I enjoyed reading, for the most part, and that’s really all I ask of books I pick up, to be honest. And I did like it! So I think we can consider that a great book and go home. It’s a romance between an actress and her makeup artist, and one I’ve been anticipating since it was announced.
